MakerSpace
MakerSpace is a place where students will learn and explore. Students will ask questions, develop ideas, create, invent, and tinker using a variety of materials and tools. In MakerSpace, students will be guided by the 4 Cs: critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity.
But MakerSpace is more than just a place; it is a community. Students will navigate STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, math) challenges and projects of their choosing in partners and teams. Activities will be collaborative, having students create and discover together. Learn more about our MakerSpace program: |

Where is the new MakerSpace?
Our MakerSpace is located in the Middle School library. The library will now function as a mixed-use space, allowing students to still take advantage of the library while also fostering a spirit of collaboration and creativity!
Who will use the MakerSpace?
All students will have the opportunity to visit and use the MakerSpace.
How can parents get involved?
Many MakerSpace projects are made possible by donations from parents. Recycled materials play a big role in the projects students will complete. Parents can help out by sending in a variety of materials as listed below. If you have any questions about a material, please direct them to makerspace@standrewsum.org.
What supplies do you currently have or need?
Here is a list of our regular material requests. Supplies are color-coded based on need:
- red= do not currently need
- yellow=we have some, but still have space for more
- green=send it in!
