CONCERT SERIES
of ST. ANDREW'S UNITED METHODIST CHURCH & DAY SCHOOL |
|
Greetings! As Artistic Director for the St. Andrew’s Concert Series, I strive to bring the best local classical and jazz musicians to the Annapolis area to present full-length concerts in the glorious sounding St. Andrew’s sanctuary. Watch this web page for upcoming events. Past seasons have featured such diverse and rarely heard groups as a trombone quartet, a clarinet choir (featuring 7 different types of clarinets), a full brass ensemble, an eclectic group performing newly composed music to 1920s era silent film, and a 7-piece classic jazz ensemble, in addition to the more traditional solo classical recitals, jazz trios and quartets, and chamber music groups. These concerts have included premier performances of works by composers in attendance, the premier of a newly found work that was never performed since it was written in 1947, and traditional classical and jazz music. We ask you to become involved to the extent that you can. Your attendance is greatly appreciated, but your help in bringing your friends and acquaintances, telling others about the series, volunteering before and after concerts, and serving “behind the scenes” with tasks such as grant writing, artist identification, publicity and audience development is invaluable and will serve to continue the great music in your community. Thanks for all of your support and I look forward to seeing you at the next concert! Ben Redwine
